State, City, and Community Businesses Celebrate ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Founding Day
This Friday, February 9 is officially “ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Day” throughout the state. That’s the day ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø was founded exactly 150 years ago in Colorado Springs. To mark ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø’s Sesquicentennial, proclamations from both the City of Colorado Springs and the State of Colorado signed this week by Mayor Yemi Mobolade and Governor Jared Polis both commemorate February 9, 2024, as ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø Day.
Area businesses are joining in the celebration by offering deals and discounts on food and beverage. Josh & John’s Ice Cream and Poor Richard’s Restaurant, both founded by ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø alums, encourage people to wear their ºÚ°µ±¬ÁÏÍø spirit wear to get a discount on food.
