Fine Arts Center

Main Stage

Due to a roof leak in the main stage area of the Fine Arts Center, Ameri Dri will be performing water remediation through Friday, July 24.

Occupants can expect to see air movers, dehumidifiers, and other drying equipment in the affected area during this time. Please use caution around the equipment and avoid disturbing it, as it is essential to the drying process.

Olin Hall

Front Range Arborists will be on campus Monday, July 27, to remove a dead tree on the north side of the Olin Hall Fishbowl.

The crew will access the work area from the north between Barnes Science Center and Palmer Hall. Please expect increased noise, contractor vehicles, and equipment in the area throughout the project.

For safety, public access to the immediate work area may be temporarily limited while tree removal is underway.

Montgomery Hall

Abatement and repair work is scheduled in Montgomery Hall beginning Wednesday, July 22, and is expected to be completed by Wednesday, July 29.

ARS will be onsite Wednesday and Thursday, July 22–23, performing abatement work. Following abatement, General Ceiling and Partitions will complete drywall installation and painting from Friday, July 24, through Tuesday, July 28.

Contractor vehicles will be parked in front of Montgomery Hall throughout the project. Please use caution when traveling through the area.

Schlessman Pool

The Schlessman Pool will be closed from July 31 through August 16 for scheduled maintenance and re-grouting of the pool floor.

Pool draining will begin on Friday, July 31, and the pool will remain closed throughout the maintenance period. We appreciate your patience as this work is completed to maintain the facility.

FAC

Please be advised that Monument Roofing is currently performing a roofing project at the Fine Arts Center (FAC). This work is necessary to maintain the integrity of the building and help ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.

The project is anticipated to continue through early August. We will continue to share updates throughout the duration of the project as information becomes available.

What to Expect:
• Roofing activity in designated areas around the building
• Traffic control on West Dale Street for trucking and crane activity
• Intermittent noise and minor disruptions during work hours, approximately 5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
• Temporary restrictions to some entrances, walkways, or parking areas for safety purposes

Safety Reminders:
• Please follow all posted signage and instructions from construction personnel
• Avoid restricted areas and remain clear of work zones
• Report any safety concerns to Facilities immediately

Mail Room - Yalich Student Services Center

Please be advised that, due to a failed motor speed drive, the air conditioning in the Mail Room at the Yalich Student Services Center is currently not operational.

The replacement part has been ordered and is expected to arrive by July 29. We will provide an update if the part arrives sooner and repairs can be completed earlier.

Spencer Center

Please be advised that the AC-5 unit serving portions of Spencer Center is currently out of service due to a faulty motherboard.

The following areas may experience reduced or no cooling until repairs are completed: Rooms 301 North, 301 South, 301B, 314, 325, 401, 402, 404, and 406.

Replacement parts have been ordered, and repairs will be completed as soon as they are received.

East Campus Resident Buildings

We would like to provide an update on the ongoing efforts to restore full functionality to the East Campus heating and cooling system.

At this time, all systems other than the heating and cooling system have been restored and are fully functional. Our teams are continuing to work diligently to restore full functionality to the heating and cooling system as quickly as possible.

The heating system in Armstrong Hall is still out of service due to emergency repairs to the building’s hot water system.

Repairs are ongoing, and full heating service has not yet been restored.

El Diente

EHS responded to a reported flood in Unit #103 and identified a severe sewage backup originating from the kitchen sink. The incident impacted the entire first floor of the unit.

 Immediate mitigation actions are underway and include:

  • Olson Plumbing has cleared the main line and resolved the blockage.
  • AmeriDri has completed sewage extraction and sanitation.
  • Controlled demolition began on December 19, 2025, to remove porous and contaminated materials.

 Due to the nature of this Category 3 (black water) intrusion, all drywall on the first floor is being removed to a 4-foot level, along with affected basement ceiling materials. All first-floor contents, including cabinetry, furniture, carpet, and major appliances, are considered a total loss and will be disposed of. Access to the second floor is currently restricted to prevent cross-contamination.

Unit #103 will remain offline indefinitely.

 There is no estimated timeline for return to service at this time.

Further updates will be provided as remediation progresses.

 Thank you for your cooperation in limiting access to the space.
